We LOVE taking photos of......

CHILDREN AT PLAY AND PORTRAITES

At A&L Photographix we love to take photos of children at play where they are happy and glowing with excitement.

Here is a selection of photos we took one day whilst we where at Bubbles Play Cafe with Miss Kaitilyn. All ways beautifull smiles and laughs when we visit here.

We also provide budget friendly Pregnancy and Baby Photo Shoot Packages, which are a great way to capture thos wonderful memories of your growing belly and family. For information on these visit our Facebook page or email us.

Off course we would not be a photography company unless we did portraite photography also. However, at A&L Photographix we like to do things slightly different. Our portraites are done under natural light settings, with only minimal assistance from the speedlight flash unit on our camera. We love to capture the natural shine of those whom we photograph.

We believe the best photos are those that capture the moment, rather then staged photos, however, we will do staged portraites also. At this point in time though, we do not have a studio.

We LOVE to take photos at the............

PARK!!!!!!!

Over the coming weeks Ashley and I will be posting some photo blogs of our favourite places to take family photos and our favourite photography types- family, pregnancy, etc. to showcase our work.

Our first one, todays, is of taking photos at the park.

We love park and playgrounds cause children love them and their personalities can SHINE!

There is so much to do at the park. Our family loves to go to the park and play on the playground and chase the birds and ducks.
A favourite is DUCK FEEDING!

Another FUN part of playing at the park is sliding down the SLIDES. Some are big, some are small, some are fast, some are slow- but they are all FUN.

BIG "kid" or little "kid" we all have fun and smiles at the park. Such a great place for family outings.

And lets not forget SWINGS!
Swing high and fast,
or low and slow,
always having fun.

These are some of our favourite park photos. If you would like to have some family photos taken at a park- visit our Facebook page for our prices and contact information. We will travel to you, however, we advise that there may be a small travel surcharge due to the high cost of petrol, we will advise you of this when you contact us.

The Port Festival 09/10/2011 Our Family Day Out!

For a change we were glad the weather forecast turned out to be inaccurate, well for the most part. The weather was beautiful and the Port put on a fantastic show for a wonderful family day out. Definitely recommend going to the Port Festival again when they hold it.

There was lots to see and do there. From guided bus tours and dolphin cruises on the Port River, to artist markets and free entry to the Port's museums. There was lots of food and drinks to buy and taste, discounted pub meals and special "Festival Plates" to try local produce.

It was a long day for us and we enjoyed it thoroughly. We started the day of at the Port Adelaide Visitors and Information Center, where we caught a bus to go on a guided tour of the Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) where we learn a lot of information about Submarines and the new Air Warfare Destroyers. Sorry but there are no photos of this tour as we were not allowed off the bus and it is a high security site.

Once we got back to the Port, we had a look around at the stalls on the foreshore and had some lunch.

It was during this time the girls had their photos taken with Thunder, the Port Adelaide Football Clubs mascot. I think Miss 18mo Kaitilyn was a little unsure about him.

After lunch we went on a dolphin cruise around the Port River. Unfortunately some of us didn't get to see any dolphins, but we captured this photo of the "STV One and All". We enjoyed our time on the "Dolphin Explorer" and recommend that if you ever get the chance, you take up the opportunity to enjoy 2 hours of dolphin spotting fun.

We were able to go on board the "STV One and All" after our dolphin spotting cruise  and it was great to have a look at what it would be like to be aboard a sailing ship. The above photo was taken by Ashley during our visit on the "STV One and All".

After the dolphin cruise and walk through of the "STV One and All", we went to the Aviation Museum  and then had tea at the local KFC (quick, easy and had high chairs for little miss). After tea we went the Maritime Museum. We had a blast looking through the exhibits there and being able to go on the Ketch boat of olden days that have built inside the museum.
Samantha and Kaitilyn (being given a piggy back ride by Sissy in her ERGObaby carrier), went on the surf board as part of the Maritime Museum's "Life's a Beach" exhibit.
By this stage we were all getting rather tired so we headed off to have a look at the light display "Port Inhabited" which depicts the stories of the Port, told through extraordinary light n sound projection on the buildings along historic Lipson street. This was fantastic to see and experience.

This wonderful photo is of the "STV One and All" all lit up after dark. The sheer  size of it is amazing and I love the light on the beams.
Of course we couldn't go to the Port and take photos after dark with out capturing the Port Lighthouse with the colourful lights that they use. This is another magnificent sight at the Port. During the day, the Maritime Museum opens the light house up and you can climb through to the top and look out at the Ports sights.

Here are a couple of last photos that we took on our way back to the car. If you visit the Port, be sure to take your camera as there is loads of interesting things to see and do there, and always something wonderful to take photos of.

Welcome to A&L Photographix part 2

Welcome again from Ashley and Lisa from A&L Photographix.

With this being the second part of our Welcome blog I guess I should introduce the type of photography and our philosophy.
At A&L Photographix we love to take family photos in a natural setting. We use primarily natural light with some assistance from our flash unit on our camera. We believe this is the best way to get "truthful" family photos that show spontaneous reactions and the true character of those we are photographing. We believe everyone has the right to have beautiful family photos taken with out spending a huge amount of money.

When editing photos we use Adobe Photoshop CS5 to watermark any photos that are to be uploaded to the Internet as we believe in protection of out work and the images of those we photograph. We place our watermark across any faces when uploading to the net. We can also convert to black and white, sepia and a wide range of other effects.

Welcome to A&L Photographix part 1

A&L Photographix is a family run and orintated photography business started by myself, Lisa, and my fiancee, Ashley.

A&L Photographix came into being thanks to a love of photography that Ashley and I have and our discovery that if you are on a budget, getting family photos taken is near on impossible to afford. We have a number of packages and are continuesously reworking them and designing more budget friendly packages. We are also willing to allow payment plans and some of our packages have payment options included.

Since A&L Photographix is a family run and orintated business, I suppose you would like to know about our family. Ashley is 36 and I am 24 and our family consists of Samantha, 13, Ashley's daughter from a previous marriage, and little miss Kaitilyn (Boo Bear) who is 18 months old. Our girls are our world and we love taking photos of them and telling the world how proud of them we are.

Kaitilyn enjoying some fun in the water at the Elizabeth Aquadome before a swimming lesson. This photo is great work of Samantha, our up coming photography star :)

We can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/alphotographix where we have examples of our work and all our current price lists. We will be using this blog to write about our experiances in the business world and also to run the occasional give away.

We thank you for reading our blog and hope you check back in the future and maybe even ask us to have the honor of taking photos for you. <3
